Iowa Sex Offenders List
Public access to the Iowa Sex Offenders List is the result of several acts passed by Congress, which require states - like Iowa - to release relevant information about registered sex offenders to protect the public.
Iowa Registry
Each state differs in terms of how it administers its community notification process. The Iowa sex offenders registry IS accessible on-line via the following link:

Iowa Sex Offenders List Excerpt: "On or after July 1, 1995, an individual who has been convicted or adjudicated of a criminal offense against a minor, sexual exploitation, or a sexually violent crime or who was on probation, parole, or work release status, or who was incarcerated on or after July 1, 1995 is required to register. Registration does include individuals that have received a deferred sentence or deferred judgments and can include convictions from other jurisdictions such as other states and/or federal convictions."
Other Registries
Although you can get registered sex offender information directly from a State Sex Offenders List like that of Iowa, in fact, from almost all state government web sites, you'll probably find it easier to do a free search or a full search of several other sex offender registries.
